Here we’ve gathered books, websites, etc that we’ve found helpful on our journey.

HostMonster- Our hosting provider offers what we feel is the best bang for the buck available. Lots of space and bandwidth, unlimited email accounts, MySQL databases, Fantastico…it’s all here at a great price.

Rule #1 - While I hate the “15 minutes a week!” claim, I think the book has a solid foundation in Warren Buffett-style investing.  Obviously not just anyone can do what Buffett has done, but this book gives you a good look at some of the tools he uses that are available to everyone.  It is a solid primer in value investing and buying stocks that are out of favor.  Does it always work?  No, of course not.  But I believe you’ll go right more often than wrong by following the principles contained in this book.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad - This book changed the way I think about money. After I read it I literally walked around and felt like I was on a higher plane financially - like I knew something that nobody else did. Shortly after reading this book I set out on a path to achieve financial independence and my net worth went from negative to positive very quickly. I think his real estate theories are…stretched a bit, but the definitions of assets and liabilities really struck a chord with me. This book is highly recommended.

Think And Grow Rich- A different look at generating wealth. This book doesn’t give you a direct path to making money (do this, start this business, get this degree). It does encourage you to tap into your creative resources, however. If you can understand the “secret” this book is trying to get across, it should help you on your wealth building journey.

Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant- The second book in the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series, this book goes into more detail about the different money making quadrants. The differences between employees and business owners are really pointed out. Although Kiyosaki has made the bulk of his money in real estate, the principles here can be applied to any business.

Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing - The third book in the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series. Here we learn about different methods of making your money work for you. There are 16 investor lessons as well as the coverage of the different types of investors. What type of investor do you want to be?

Small Time Operator- A great book about running your own business. This book is geared toward the entrepreneur just starting out or running a small business. It’s a great read to understand everything from tax laws to trademarks. If you’re thinking about starting a business or are already running a small business this is an excellent resource.

The Richest Man in Babylon - Read this book.  The principles in it are timeless and if you take them to heart you will be better off financially for it.
